Choosing the Right Texas Instruments Calculator for Your Team: A Purchasing Manager’s View

  • How will you handle replacements? If you’re ordering a handful, buy from a vendor with a good return policy. If you’re ordering dozens, negotiate a warranty on the whole batch.

When I started in this role, I tried to standardize everything on the cheapest model. That was a mistake. It saved money on paper but spent it on complaints and rework. Now I think in terms of total ownership cost. A calculator’s real price includes training time, user frustration, and replacement logistics. That number is often higher than the price tag.
